Eni MX 4050 is an olefin copolymer rubber designed for use as a viscosity index improver in engine oils and lubricants. It has low ethylene content and is dissolved in base oils at around 11% by weight to produce the viscosity index improver additive. The additive is then diluted at 10% by weight in base oil to yield a shear stability index of about 23 and thickening power between 10.0-10.6 mm2/s.
