What is New Height Limits for Airport Constructions about?
The Union civil aviation ministry and the Airports Authority of India have doubled the maximum height of constructions allowed near airports in India from 150 to 300 meters. This change will allow taller buildings to be constructed further away from airports, benefiting developers in Mumbai areas like Andheri, Santa Cruz, Kurla, and Bandra. Under the new rules, a 300-meter tall building could be built 2.6 kilometers from runways, compared to the previous limit of 1.5 kilometers for a 150-meter building.
