Boron deficiency in plants causes death of growing shoots, thick and brittle leaves that curl, an inability to form flowers, and stunted root growth. Manganese deficiency results in chlorosis between leaf veins seen as chlorotic and necrotic spots, and greyish or yellowish areas near the base of young leaves. Molybdenum deficiency appears as chlorotic mottling between leaf veins, followed by leaf necrosis and folding, and severe withering of leaf tissues in cauliflower.
