What is Chain of Paper Clips Pendulum Lab about?

This experiment investigates the oscillations of a chain of paper clips hanging from a cork attached to a retort stand. The period of oscillation was measured for chains of varying numbers of paper clips. A graph of the logarithm of period versus the logarithm of number of paper clips yielded a straight line, from which the constants p and q in the equation T=pnq could be determined. The experiment confirmed that the period of a simple pendulum is directly proportional to the length.
