This study investigates the effectiveness of Swedish intermediate EFL textbooks in supporting incidental vocabulary learning through a corpus-based analysis. The findings reveal that while the textbooks provide a suitable amount of unknown and mid-frequency vocabulary, they lack sufficient recycling of these words, primarily focusing on already known lexical items. Consequently, the materials do not adequately support vocabulary development as intended for the target students.
