This study aimed to improve the reading skills of first-year high school students in Maros, Indonesia through the use of the look and say method. The researcher administered a pre-test to 30 students to assess their initial reading ability and then taught them using the look and say method. This method has students look at and say words to help memorize them. After the treatment, the students took a post-test to measure any improvement. The statistical analysis found a significant increase in reading scores
