What is Freud about?

Freud claimed that human personality consists of three levels: the id, ego, and superego. The id seeks pleasure through urges like hunger and sex. The ego acts rationally to satisfy the id. The superego controls the id and ego through social norms learned from parents. Freud also believed that most of the mind is unconscious, and proposed psychosexual stages of development from infancy to age 5 focused on different erogenous zones like the mouth and anus.
