This study evaluates the gastroprotective effects of mirtazapine, escitalopram, and venlafaxine in depressed rats with indomethacin-induced ulcers, comparing their efficacy to ranitidine. Results indicate that all antidepressants significantly reduced ulcer severity and improved biochemical markers related to oxidative stress and inflammation. The findings suggest that the gastroprotective effects may be linked to the modulation of inflammatory cytokines and antioxidant properties of these antidepressants.
