This study investigates the relationship between indoor air quality (IAQ) and absenteeism due to acute respiratory infections (ARIs) and gastrointestinal (GI) issues among children and staff in day-care centers (DCCs). The findings indicate that ARI absenteeism was not significantly associated with measured IAQ parameters, while GI symptoms showed a significant correlation with room temperature. The study concludes that targeted interventions did not significantly affect absenteeism rates.
