This study evaluated the prognostic significance of the Subjective Global Assessment (SGA) in 234 patients with advanced colorectal cancer. The SGA is a clinical technique used to assess nutritional status. The study found that 52% of patients were malnourished according to the SGA. Median survival was 12.8 months for well-nourished patients, 8.8 months for moderately malnourished patients, and 6 months for severely malnourished patients, with the differences being statistically significant.
