1) The forest animals were living in fear of the lion who would hunt and kill one of them each day. 2) They held a meeting to discuss how to stop the lion, and the rabbit proposed tricking the lion. 3) The rabbit led the lion to a deep well and tricked him into looking inside, where the lion saw his reflection and roared. When he jumped in to attack, the lion drowned.
