It is not the product of the author’s own research, but a collection of material from many sources, with the addition of the author’s personal experience, gained during the many years in which he directed drainage work in Israel.An additional purpose of this book is to provide the engineer with standardized methods of calculation and design. These are to replace the many —often conflicting—methods now in use, differing from each other because of the different backgrounds of the hydraulic engineers.
