This 3-year study evaluated the effects of grazing intensity on herbage accumulation, tiller density, and steer body weight gain in continuously stocked Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu pasture in the Brazilian savanna. Treatments consisted of maintaining canopy heights of 15, 30, and 45 cm. A decline in tiller density and herbage accumulation was observed from the first to third grazing years, particularly at a 15 cm canopy height. Maintaining a 15 cm height also resulted in a marked decline in steer body
