What is EIGRP: Advanced Distance Vector Routing about?

This document describes a new distance-vector routing protocol called EIGRP that was designed to converge quickly like link-state protocols while avoiding routing loops. EIGRP uses the Diffusing Update Algorithm (DUAL) to compute shortest paths in a distributed manner without ever creating routing table loops or counting to infinity issues. It also includes mechanisms for neighbor discovery, reliable transmission of routing updates, and support for multiple network layer protocols. The paper provides an ove
