This study investigated the prevalence of adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in a Hungarian community sample using different diagnostic criteria. Over 3,500 adults aged 18-60 were screened for ADHD symptoms, and 161 who screened positive underwent a clinical interview. Prevalence estimates ranged from 1.35% using strict DSM-IV criteria to 4.16% using relaxed criteria. Logistic regression found ADHD was more common in males and younger adults.
