The constant O.llT is used to convert barometer readings to mean sea level for an average temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and altitude of 30 meters. Daily variations should be applied from corrections for the area. Calibration should be done annually or when the Port Meteorological Office is available by comparing with their precision aneroid barometer. Readings can be obtained from the Met Office by VHF or email if they cannot visit the vessel.
