Tanveer Alam, age 19, was referred by Dr. RK Vishwakarma for a CT scan of the head. The scan showed dilated cortical sulci and moderately dilated third and lateral ventricles with paraventricular white matter hypodensities, consistent with diffuse cerebral atrophy and periventricular leukomalacia due to old inflammatory or metabolic pathology. The cerebellum, brainstem, cerebellopontine angle, prepontine cisterns, and basal cisterns appeared normal with no midline shift.
