The three organizations - CECO, CEE and EURATOM - were established through different treaties in the 1950s but later merged. While they had similar goals of promoting peace and economic cooperation in Europe, they differed in scope and legal structures. CECO focused on heavy industry cooperation, CEE on establishing a common market, and EURATOM on developing peaceful nuclear energy. Over time their institutions unified and they were absorbed into the modern European Union.
