Volker Wangenheim was a German conductor, composer and academic teacher born in 1928 in Berlin. He conducted the orchestra in Bonn from 1957, opening their new concert hall in 1959 which the orchestra was then named after. He also co-founded and conducted the Bundesjugendorchester, Germany
