Reactions of 1,8-Dimethoxy-9-phenylxanthen-9-ol in the Presence of an Acid, and Its Basicity. -The title compound (I) smoothly reacts with several ketone, aldehyde, alcohol, and arene solvents in the presence of catalytic amounts of acid.
