What is Biomechanical Evaluation of The Screw Preload Values Used in The Plate Placement For Bone Fractures about?

This document examines the effects of different screw preload values on bone fracture fixation using plates and screws. A finite element analysis was conducted to model a tibia bone fracture fixed with dynamic compression plates (DCP) and locking compression plates (LCP) under various screw preload conditions ranging from 50N to 2000N. The results showed that higher preload values increased stresses and strains in the bone-plate system, and a critical preload value of 500N was identified.
