What is Dionysus: God of Wine and Nature about?

Dionysus was the Greek god of wine, ritual madness, pleasure, and theatre. He was the son of Zeus and Semele. According to the legend, Hera killed Semele while she was pregnant, but Zeus rescued the unborn Dionysus and sewed him into his thigh to allow him to fully develop. Dionysus taught humans about winemaking and spread his cult while wandering the earth. He had many lovers and relationships with both mortal women and other gods. Eventually Dionysus was invited to join the other gods on Mount Olympus.
