Gerald Rudolph Ford was the 38th President of the United States from 1974 to 1977. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska and adopted by Gerald R. Ford Sr. after his parents divorced. Ford graduated from Yale Law School and practiced law in Grand Rapids, Michigan before serving in the Navy during World War II.
