About this document
Alliteration and Assonance Explained by Ays Bernal is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Alliteration is the repetition of initial consonant sounds in words close together. Examples include "The Fair breeze blew, the white foam flew" and "Good men are gruff and grumpy, cranky, crabbed and cross." Assonance is the repetition of vowel sounds within words close together, like "For the rare and radiant maiden" and "It beats... as it sweeps... as it cleans!" Both alliteration and assonance involve repeating sounds, but alliteration repeats initial consonants while assonance repeats internal vowels.
