What is PFL - Ghana about?

The Government of Ghana is implementing agricultural subsidy programs aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in rice and reducing chicken meat imports. Key initiatives include the Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) program, which provides input subsidies to farmers, and the Ghana CARES Broiler Initiative, targeting the chicken meat sector. However, challenges such as unpaid debts to fertilizer companies and rising production costs may hinder the sustainability and effectiveness of these programs.
