About this document

Overview of Whales as Mammals by Indah Lz is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Whales are sea-living mammals that breathe air but cannot survive on land. The blue whale can exceed 30 meters in length, making it the largest animal on Earth. While whales superficially resemble fish, they have important structural differences - their tails are broad and flat rather than vertical, and they have a single nostril on their broad heads. Their skin is smooth and shiny, beneath which lies a thick layer of blubber up to 30 centimeters thick that helps conserve heat and fluids.
