About this document
Understanding Placental Insufficiency in FGR by WuinnyLiHolguin is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Placental dysfunction is a major cause of fetal growth restriction (FGR). Placental-mediated FGR occurs through chronic fetal hypoxia due to poor placental perfusion. Maternal vascular malperfusion (MVM) is the most common placental disease associated with FGR, characterized by signs of chorion regression or uteroplacental vascular insufficiency on ultrasound. Histopathological examination of the placenta after delivery can identify placental diseases and guide future care, as the recurrence risks vary.
