About this document
Political Marginalization of Indigenous Filipinos by Keanna Morales is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This research analyzes how the marginalization of indigenous people in the Philippines affects their political participation. Using data from 197 indigenous-dominated municipalities from 2005-2015, the study finds that lack of access to basic needs like education and healthcare decreases the likelihood that indigenous people will vote or run for office. Quantitative analysis found correlations between higher voter turnout and factors like more schools/higher enrollment as well as presence of public hospital
