What is GST on Property Rent Under RCM about?

The Government of Rajasthan has issued a notification stating that GST at 18% will be applicable on renting of immovable property by unregistered persons to registered persons under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM), effective from October 10, 2024. Additionally, renting of residential properties to registered persons also attracts the same GST rate under RCM since July 18, 2022. Taxpayers are advised to fulfill their GST obligations related to rent payments from the current month onward.
