Antituberculars/ranitidine Erythroderma and lack of efficacy: case report A 50-year-old man developed erythroderma during treatment with rifampicin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide and ethambutol for lung tuberculosis. Additionally, he exhibited lack of efficacy with ranitidine, while being treated for erythroderma [routes not stated; not all dosages stated].The man presented to outpatient clinic with 1-week history of exfoliative scaly skin all over his body. Five months before this admission, he was diagnosed with lung tuberculosis (TB), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection stage 3. He had been receiving anti-TB drugs such as rifampicin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide and ethambutol. After 2 months of therapy, he developed reddish patches appeared, along with scaling of the skin throughout his body. Therefore, he was hospitalised and diagnosed with erythroderma. His lesions improved thereafter. His therapy with anti-TB drugs were continued. Three weeks after discharge, similar symptoms occurred. Therefore, he was hospitalised again. It was presumed that, he developed erythroderma secondary to anti-TB drugs. He started receiving treatment with ranitidine 50mg for 12hours. Concomitantly,
