What is Mali - A Rescued Asian Elephant Tale about?
Deep in a forest a shelter lies hidden, an elephant refuge where cruelty s forbidden. A story of capture and desolation, of rescue, shelter and preservation. Mali s story traces her life from capture through years of hard labor in the lumber industry to her life in the big city. Will Mali find love and the care she needs to survive? Themes of animal and forest exploitation, loss of habitat and human-animal interaction provide opportunities for discussion about the way people have domesticated, used and cared for asian elephants for centuries. Mali s story is also a starting point for conversations about alternative ways to work with and provide for these intelligent, endangered animals
