Senate Democratic Conference Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins issued a statement saying that rushing to implement a new teacher evaluation system would be misguided and only cause problems, and that delaying its implementation is the minimum step that should be taken, as faulty and fast implementation of poorly conceived education reforms have caused issues in the past. The statement was in response to education system changes included in the 2015-2016 New York State budget that were rushed through.
