What is Split Finger Technique in Drumming about?

The split-finger drumming technique originated in Egypt and was popularized by Turkish drummer Mısırlı Ahmet. It involves striking a drum with the index and ring fingers of the same hand in a downward motion. There are two main methods - using one hand or interlacing strikes between both hands. When done with both hands, there are combinations where each hand strikes twice in quick succession, resulting in four hits per beat at fast tempos over 200 beats per minute.
