Vincent van Gogh was a post-Impressionist painter from the Netherlands who became famous after his death. He painted over 900 paintings in just 10 years using dark colors and peasants as models initially. He suffered from illness and seizures which affected his work. During his life he sold only one painting but after his death he became very famous and his paintings like Starry Night, The Bedroom, Irises and Sunflowers are now among the most famous in the world.
