Physical examination found moderate general appearance, blood pressure of 160/100, and icterus. Lab results showed hemoglobin of 9.6 g/dL, creatinine of 14 mg/dL, and sodium of 144 mmol/L, consistent with stage 5 chronic kidney disease. The patient was admitted for hemodialysis to treat end-stage renal failure from hypertension.
