This study investigates the effects of chitosan on the tensile strength of edible films made from carrageenan extracted from Eucheuma spinosum, addressing the need for sustainable packaging alternatives to non-biodegradable plastics. Results show that the optimal chitosan concentration enhances tensile strength up to 15.31 MPa while maintaining film thickness within the JIS Z 1707:2019 standard. The findings suggest that combining carrageenan and chitosan can significantly improve the mechanical properties
