This study evaluated cognitive dysfunction in 192 patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery with or without cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). 46 patients who developed postoperative cognitive dysfunction (Group A) were compared to 146 patients without dysfunction (Group B). Group A was significantly older than Group B. While most variables were similar between groups, Group A had a longer hospital stay.
