What is Scrooge about?

Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley on Christmas Eve. Marley warns Scrooge that he will be visited by three spirits. Scrooge dismisses the idea, saying that Christmas is "humbug." He is a cold, miserable man who dislikes Christmas and sees it only as a burden. When his nephew and charity collectors try to spread Christmas cheer, Scrooge rebuffs them. At the end of the day, Scrooge is left alone with his gloomy thoughts, awaiting the promised visits from the ghosts.
