About this document

Gallbladder Cholesterolosis Overview by fado is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Gallbladder cholesterolosis, also known as strawberry gallbladder, is a common pathology seen in around 13% of patients with chronic cholecystitis. Microscopically, it is characterized by numerous foamy macrophages in the gallbladder wall and sometimes papillary hyperplasia. It is associated with cholesterol gallstones and a decreased risk of gallbladder cancer compared to gallbladders without cholesterolosis.
