What is Downlink QoS Scheduling in WiMAX about?

This document proposes a downlink resource management framework for quality of service (QoS) scheduling in IEEE 802.16 WiMAX networks. The framework consists of a dynamic resource allocation module and a connection admission control module. A two-level hierarchical scheduler is developed for resource allocation that separates resource distribution from packet scheduling. An adaptive estimation-based bandwidth distribution scheme and a measurement-based connection admission control policy are also proposed.
