This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the risk of contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) associated with different types of contrast media used in imaging procedures. The findings indicated that iodixanol, an iso-osmolar contrast medium, had a slightly lower risk for CIN compared to low-osmolar contrast media (LOCM), but this difference was not clinically significant.
