This research article investigates the nutritional and phenolic profiles of Spanish chickpea gene-bank seeds, revealing that these accessions have superior macro-mineral content and higher levels of protein and bound phenolic compounds compared to commercial cultivars. A total of 42 phenolic compounds were quantified, with nine identified for the first time in chickpea seeds. The findings suggest that these gene-bank accessions warrant further exploration for their potential health benefits and applications
