We examined seismicity in central Greece between 1890-1988 using historical and instrumental data. While some active fault structures correlated with large earthquakes, others showed no seismic activity despite being known hazards. Even 100 years of data is insufficient to fully assess seismic risk or maximum earthquake sizes, though no quakes larger than M7.0 were reported in the last 200 years. Earthquakes with M25.8 during this period could account for 45-70cm of N-S displacement observed across networks
