This study examines the factors that determine the performance of Islamic banks in Indonesia based on maqasid shariah principles. The study analyzes data from Islamic banks in Indonesia from 2014 to 2017. It finds that profit and loss sharing financing positively influences performance, but risk taking behavior negatively impacts it. Cost efficiency was found to not influence performance.
