Josh Sevigny wrote a design evaluation about using color properties and a color harmony scheme to enhance a painting of a postal scale. He used intensity, hue, and value within brown, grey, and green colors to give the painting a realistic, uniform feel. Restricting the colors to one harmony made the painting look more cohesive than if multiple bright or cool colors were used. Applying knowledge of color properties gave the painting a unified, visually appealing presence.
