1) A mouse takes a stroll through the deep dark wood and encounters various animals who want him for a meal. 2) The mouse tells each animal that he is on his way to have a meal with the Gruffalo, a creature the animals have not heard of. 3) When the mouse describes the scary features of the Gruffalo, each animal gets frightened and runs away. 4) At the end, the Gruffalo actually appears and is also scared off when the mouse convinces him that he is not afraid. The mouse enjoys a berry in the wood.
