The study investigates whether women who engage in casual sex are perceived to have lower self-esteem compared to those in committed relationships, using an experimental vignette design. Findings indicate that participants did not stereotype women or men with casual sexual partners as having lower self-esteem, and casual sex was associated with increased attractiveness for short-term relationships. The results suggest a waning double standard in sexual stereotypes, reflecting changing cultural attitudes tow
