The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that in November 2010: 1) There were 3.2 million job openings in the US, essentially unchanged from October. The job openings rate was also unchanged at 2.4%. 2) The hires rate and separations rate were both little changed at 3.2%. 3) Total hires in November were 4.2 million, up 9% from the June 2009 trough but still below the 5 million level when the recession began in December 2007.
