The study analyzed groundwater quality from one well and one borehole in Wabiri and Achiase, Ghana. Bacterial levels in wells ranged from 102 to 101 CFU/100ml for total coliforms and E. coli, and 101 to 100 CFU/100ml for salmonella, but were absent from boreholes. Chemical levels of iron, nitrate, nitrite and chloride were within WHO guidelines in both wells and boreholes, but water from the borehole was of higher quality overall.
