Can I read Numerical Challenges in Turbulence Simulation on EtoBox?
Numerical Challenges in Turbulence Simulation by Robert D. Moser is a book available to read on EtoBox.
What is Numerical Challenges in Turbulence Simulation about?
As this volume focuses on the numerical methods and issues relevant to the simulation of turbulence, it is appropriate to begin with a very brief introduction to turbulence. This discussion is not intended to be comprehensive as it is focused on those aspects most relevant to the numerical simulation of turbulence. For a thorough introduction to the turbulence phenomenon, there are many excellent books, including [1][2][3]. In this section, we start with a discussion of the nature of turbulence and why it is worth simulating (Section 1.1.1), followed by a review of the Navier-Stokes equations, the governing equations of fluid mechanics and particularly of turbulence (Section 1.1.2), and finish with an introduction to turbulence scaling, which informs the resolution requirements for turbulence simulation.
